The Dexter Tigers will be home for the holidays to greet the Penobscot Valley Howlers at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Dexter focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Tuesday.
Last Tuesday, Dexter made easy work of Central and carried off a 58-35 victory.
Dexter's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ethan Doherty, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds. Doherty is absolutely dominating the block category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Kellen Peavey, who scored 14 points.
Meanwhile, Penobscot Valley's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They took a 44-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of Calais.
Dexter now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Penobscot Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
Dexter beat Penobscot Valley 55-43 when the teams last played back in January. Does Dexter have another victory up their sleeve, or will Penobscot Valley turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
