After two games on the road, Blackfoot is heading back home. They will take on the Timberline Wolves at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Idaho (Blackfoot is ranked 43rd, while Timberline is ranked 36th).
Last Tuesday, Blackfoot was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 40-36 to Snake River.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Addison Tanner, who scored 11 points along with 7 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jaci Capson, who scored 5 points.
Meanwhile, Timberline was able to grind out a solid win over Borah on Tuesday, taking the game 47-39. The win made it back-to-back wins for Timberline.
Timberline's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emmi Swillie, who scored 8 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Mertes, who scored 11 points.
The last time Blackfoot won on the road was back two weeks ago. Having now lost three straight away matches, they've bumped their record down to 1-3. As for Timberline, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Blackfoot have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 25.2 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Timberline struggles in that department as they've been even better at 32 per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
