Given Grain Valley's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 82nd, while Kearney is ranked 231st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Grain Valley's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-5. As for Kearney, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-12.
Grain Valley will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against St. Michael the Archangel. As for Kearney, they will head out on the road to face off against Liberty at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
