Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only The Lincoln Golden Lions walked away with it. They managed a 48-42 victory over Grove City on Friday. The win was just business as usual for Lincoln, who after 12 games remain undefeated this season.
Diore Hubbard was his usual excellent self, rushing for 193 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.2 yards per carry, and also picking up 56 receiving yards. Hubbard has been hot recently, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last nine times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jalen Scott, who picked up 118 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Lincoln's defensive line and their four sacks. Grove City's QB won't forget Derek Bradley anytime soon given Bradley sacked him twice.
Lincoln's victory was their 13th straight at home (dating back to last season), which pushed their record up to 12-0. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-10 Reynoldsburg and 1-10 Reynoldsburg (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 44.5% over those games). As for Grove City, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.
Lincoln's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Upper Arlington at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th. Upper Arlington is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games. Grove City does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
