The Fort Wayne HomeSchool Hawks entered their tilt with the Kokomo HomeSchool Eagles with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Fort Wayne HomeSchool walked away with a 78-69 victory over Kokomo HomeSchool on Saturday. Given Fort Wayne HomeSchool's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while Kokomo HomeSchool is ranked 162nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fort Wayne HomeSchool to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sam Newcomer, who scored 28 points along with six rebounds and two blocks. Another player making a difference was Dominic Graber, who scored 31 points along with five rebounds.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was David Hart, who scored 17 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Grayson Hembree, who scored 15 points.
Fort Wayne HomeSchool's victory bumped their record up to 18-2. As for Kokomo HomeSchool, their defeat ended an 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 13-11.
Fort Wayne HomeSchool's road trip will continue as they head out to face Mishawaka HomeSchool W at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. Hopefully Mishawaka HomeSchool W focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 back in December of 2023. As for Kokomo HomeSchool, they will take on Columbus HomeSchool at 11:20 a.m. on Friday.
