Indian Rocks Christian has enjoyed the comforts of home their last five games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Admiral Farragut BlueJackets at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Indian Rocks Christian put the finishing touches on their eighth blowout victory of the season on Thursday. They put the hurt on Bayshore Christian with a sharp 68-43 win. Winning is a bit easier when you make seven more threes than your opponent, as Indian Rocks Christian did.
Will Murphree continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 27 points along with five rebounds and three steals. That makes it 12 consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Indian Rocks Christian's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin McDonnel, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 19 rebounds.
Meanwhile, everything went Admiral Farragut's way against the Crusaders on Friday as the BlueJackets made off with a 60-35 win.
Admiral Farragut got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Danielius Gelumbauskas out in front who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. Kai Trunca was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with three steals and three blocks.
Indian Rocks Christian is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. As for Admiral Farragut, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-8.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as both teams are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Indian Rocks Christian hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 57.1 points per game. However, it's not like Admiral Farragut struggles in that department as they've been averaging 56.9 points per game. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
Indian Rocks Christian couldn't quite finish off the BlueJackets when the teams last played back in December of 2023 and fell 42-40. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Admiral Farragut's Vuk Lazarevic, who scored 24 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks.
