Emmanuel Christian walked away with a 66-53 win over Cardinal Stritch on Friday. Given Emmanuel Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 71st, while Cardinal Stritch is ranked 486th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Emmanuel Christian was led to victory by Nate Miles and Jalen Brown. Miles dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds, while Brown almost dropped a double-double on 26 points and nine rebounds. Brown also posted two blocks for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Sims, who scored four points along with nine rebounds and four steals.
Emmanuel Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season. As for Cardinal Stritch, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-11.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Emmanuel Christian will face off against Bedford at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday. Emmanuel Christian is coming into the contest with five straight victories on the road, so Bedford is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum. As for Cardinal Stritch, they will challenge Toledo Christian at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
