Softball Recap: Linden Wins Going Away Against Brighton

Linden came out on top against Brighton on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run seventh inning. The Eagles were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Bulldogs. Considering the Eagles have won 22 games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Tessa Zilisch (2027) made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Zilisch (2027) was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Morgan Piotrovsky (2025), who went 3-for-5 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted over her last 13 matches. Another player making a difference was Miranda Richardson (2026), who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Linden kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Brighton only managed three hits.

Linden is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That somehow still isn't as good as their 30-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Brighton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-23-1 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Linden will square off against Hartland at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Brighton, they will challenge Clinton at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
