St. Joseph is 9-1 against Nemo Vista since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Bulldogs will head out to square off against the Red Hawks at 4:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (St. Joseph has eight straight wins, Nemo Vista has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
St. Joseph's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 16-0 margin over Wonderview. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by six runs or more this season.

Owen Coney and Travis Jackson made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Coney pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Jackson didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched. At bat, Coney scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Jackson scored four runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. With that strong performance, Jackson is now averaging an impressive 2.2 runs per game.
In other batting news, George Heer was a standout: he scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Nathan Vaughn, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI, one run, and one double.
St. Joseph always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .636. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wonderview only posted an OBP of .222.
Meanwhile, Nemo Vista fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against West Side on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 6-5.
St. Joseph's victory was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Nemo Vista, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-7.
Everything went St. Joseph's way against Nemo Vista in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as St. Joseph made off with an 8-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
