With a playoff win on the line, Haskell rose to the challenge on Friday. Everything went their way against the Ballinger Bearcats as they made off with a 12-0 win. Considering the Indians have won seven matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Paige Sheets made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Rebekah Cunningham was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. Raegan Adkins was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.
Haskell always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .654. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ballinger only posted an OBP of .167.
The victory (which was Haskell's sixth in a row) raised their record to 16-6. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Ballinger, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-10.
As of now, neither Haskell nor the Bearcats have any future games scheduled.
