Baseball Recap: Community Christian Takes a Loss

Community Christian lost against New Bern Christian Academy back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Cyclones fell 10-7 to New Bern Christian Academy.

Tyler Spivey put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Community Christian is 5-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-5 otherwise. Spivey was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Connor Ferguson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs and two doubles. Jack Beamon was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

Community Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for New Bern Christian Academy, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-3.

Community Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for New Bern Christian Academy, they have already played their next contest, a 7-6 loss against Faith Christian Academy on the 3rd.
