Hackleburg is 0-10 against Marion County since February of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Hackleburg Panthers are on the road again and plays the Marion County Red Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on February 9th. Hackleburg will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 396th, while Marion County is ranked 119th).
Hackleburg and Belgreen squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but sadly Hackleburg had to settle for second. They took a 45-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs. Hackleburg has struggled against Belgreen recently, as their game on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, even though Lynn scored an imposing 59 points on Tuesday, Marion County still came out on top. Marion County strolled past Lynn with points to spare, taking the game 75-59. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Marion County.
It was another big night for Joe Aldridge, who scored 29 points along with seven assists and five rebounds. He hasn't dropped below two steals for 12 straight games. Tye Madison was another key contributor, scoring 24 points along with three steals.
Hackleburg's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Marion County, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-8.
Hackleburg ended up a good deal behind Marion County in their previous matchup two weeks ago, losing 78-63. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Aldridge, who scored 25 points along with eight rebounds and seven assists. Now that Hackleburg knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
