Malachi Moreno has been one of the most dominant post presences in high school basketball this season, averaging averaging 22.0 points, 14.4 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 2.7 blocked shots per contest to lead
Great Crossing (Georgetown, Ky.) to a 23-4 record.
Regarded as the No. 27 prospect in the Class of 2025 according to
247Sports, the 6-foot-11 center has been a model of consistency this season, posting 25 double-doubles in 27 games.
Throughout his five-year career at Great Crossing (including a year on varsity as an eighth-grader), Moreno has piled up 2,235 points and 1,768 rebounds. The Warhawks are 114-19 since his freshman season.

Moreno earned a spot on the MaxPreps National Player of the Year watch list released last month and is the front-runner for MaxPreps Kentucky Player of the Year honors. He recently received the nod for the McDonald's All American Game.
The future Wildcat has scored 30 or more points three times this season, including a career-high 39 points to go along with 10 rebounds in an 86-84 win against Bishop McNamara (Forestville, Md.) in December. Moreno has also notched three 20-point, 20-rebounds games.
A newer school that opened in August 2019, Great Crossing is a contender to win its first state championship. The Warhawks are ranked No. 48 nationally by MaxPreps.
Moreno and his teammates have three games remaining in the regular season beginning with a showdown against South Laurel (London) tonight.
