The Horizon Hawks will stay at home for another game and welcome the University Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th. Horizon will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 504th, while University is ranked 55th).
Last Wednesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Horizon beat Hope Academy 54-50. The victory was just what Horizon needed coming off of a 80-58 loss in their prior match.
The match pitted two dominant guards against one another in Adonys Christo and Dwayne Foreman III. Christo had a great game and scored 27 points. Meanwhile, Foreman III was balling out in the loss, scoring 20 points.
Meanwhile, University pushed their score all the way to 80 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Dr. Phillips 85-80. University has been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.
Horizon's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-11. As for University, their loss dropped their record down to 13-4.
