Pike Road has gone a perfect 5-0 against Park Crossing recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. Pike Road will be playing at home against Park Crossing at 5:00 p.m. Pike Road is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
Pike Road managed to slip by Trinity Presbyterian the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. Pike Road came up short against Trinity Presbyterian on Saturday, falling 11-2.
Pike Road got a good showing from Hudson Franks, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits Franks has allowed since March 4th.
At the plate, Pike Road saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Runner Stripling, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that Stripling brought in this season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Park Crossing). Everything went their way against Carver Montgomery on Saturday as Park Crossing made off with a 24-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Thunderbirds, who have now won five games by seven runs or more so far this season.
J MCGHEE made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. MCGHEE was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February.
In other batting news, Park Crossing got a massive performance out of N HARRINGTON, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave HARRINGTON a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of J GREEN, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Park Crossing always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .694. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Pike Road's defeat dropped their record down to 9-17. As for Park Crossing, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
Pike Road took their win against Park Crossing in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 16-2. Will Pike Road repeat their success, or does Park Crossing has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
