After two weeks on the road, South View is heading back home. On Friday they take on Cape Fear at 7:30 PM. Cape Fear will need to watch out since South View have now posted big point totals in their last five contests.
South View might be getting used to good results now that the team have six wins in a row. They steamrollered E.E. Smith 54-10. Senior Donovan Brewington and junior Matthew Pemberton were among the main playmakers for South View as the former passed for 276 yards and 4 touchdowns and the latter rushed for 156 yards and 2 touchdowns. Last Friday, Cape Fear secured a 25-20 W over Westover. The team accrued the bulk of their points in the first half (23) and coasted on those for the win.
Their wins bumped Cape Fear to 5-2 and South View to 6-0. In their victory, Cape Fear relied heavily on sophomore Caydan Mckethan, who accumulated 138 passing yards and picked up 41 yards on the ground. South View will need to find a way to minimize his impact if they want to win.
