Even though SouthLake Christian Academy scored an imposing 60 points on Friday, the Gaston Day Spartans still came out on top. Gaston Day escaped with a win against SouthLake Christian Academy by the margin of a single free throw, 61-60. The win made it back-to-back wins for Gaston Day.
Gaston Day's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Deshawn Coulter, who scored 14 points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Kurt Hunter, who scored 17 points.
Gaston Day has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season. As for SouthLake Christian Academy, their defeat was their eighth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 13-14.

As for SouthLake Christian Academy, SouthLake Christian Academy and Hickory Grove Christian will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
