Baseball Recap: Malad Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Malad won against Glenns Ferry on Friday with 15 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Saturday. The Dragons beat the Lighthouse Christian Lions by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 15-1. Considering the Dragons have won five matches by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Easton Green made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Green was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Malad got a massive performance out of Carter Blaisdell, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. Blaisdell is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Holdyn Higley also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Malad was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lighthouse Christian only posted a batting average of .062.

The win was the fourth in a row for Malad, bringing their record up to 8-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for Lighthouse Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-3.

Coming up, Malad will be playing in front of their home fans against North Fremont at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Lighthouse Christian, they will host Glenns Ferry at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
