Firth has gone a perfect 10-0 against North Fremont recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Cougars will challenge the Huskies at 2:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Firth sitting on seven straight wins and North Fremont on three.
Firth's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They put the hurt on West Jefferson with a sharp 16-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won 12 contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Beau Ringel and Brycen Andersen made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Ringel pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Andersen tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Ringel has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. At the plate, Ringel got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs, while Andersen went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That's the most runs Ringel has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Grant Vasquez, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last seven games he's played. Darrell Vasquez was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Firth kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in seven consecutive matchups.
The home team had won the previous two meetings between North Fremont and Challis, and North Fremont kept the tradition alive. The Huskies narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Vikings 2-1.
North Fremont's victory was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Reuger Lenz, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
North Fremont pushed their record up to 8-8-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Firth, their win bumped their record up to 16-5.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Firth hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .328. However, it's not like North Fremont struggles in that department as they've averaged .331. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Firth's way against North Fremont when the teams last played two weeks ago, as Firth made off with a 12-1 victory. Do the Cougars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Huskies turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
