The Hollins Royals pushed their score all the way to 58 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 66-58 to Northeast. Hollins has not had much luck with Northeast recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Several Royals players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Malachi Miller, who scored 19 points. Miller has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last seven times he's played. Josh Castallani was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Northeast got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jamaries Conyers out in front who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 14 rebounds. Conyers hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Luis Ruiz, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds.
Hollins' loss dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Northeast, the win got them back to even at 10-10.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hollins will take on Tarpon Springs at 8:00 p.m. on Monday. Tarpon Springs is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Northeast, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Seminole at 8:00 p.m. One thing working in Seminole's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five matches.
