Cook Inlet recap September 17, 2013
Jacob Hoover of South ran for the longest rushing play in Cook Inlet this season against Chugiak last week. Hoover ran for 64 yards on the play and finished with 95 on the day as his team defeated the Mustangs.
South took down Chugiak 56-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Alec Valdez threw for 43 yards and 2 touchdowns during the win.
Valdez and Justice Augafa gave John Lewis' team a balanced attack through the air and ground last week.

Tyrone Davis was a passing and rushing force as West bested Bartlett. He completed 9 passes for 155 yards and also ran for 17 yards. Davis' favorite target this week was Leroy Elliot, who caught 4 passes for 119 yards.
Augafa was the best running back in the league this week. In 11 carries, he ran for 115 yards as South topped the Golden Bears.
Elliot was the best receiver in the league this week as West bested Bartlett. Marquise Rayford helped West's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 31 yards.
Valdez put up the best numbers in passing as the Wolverines topped Duncan Shackelford's team.
6-foot-4 quarterback Zyrelle Jones of Daniel Esparza's team is the league leader in passing yards this season with 424. He has also thrown 4 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Elliot. The West star has 19 catches for 371 yards.
The most important game in Cook Inlet this week will be the match up between the Golden Bears and East. Bartlett enters the game ranked 17th in the state, while the Thunderbirds ranks 20th.
Dimond made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 4,934 from 5,651. The improvement was the result of 30-6 victory over East last week.
