Pompano Beach has not had much luck with South Broward recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Despite the loss, Pompano Beach still got an impressive performance from Jonathan Berwig, who scored 15 points along with five assists. That was a full 41.7% of Pompano Beach's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Devin Watson, who scored seven points.
South Broward was led to victory by Gabriel Collier and Dominique Brutus. Collier scored 20 points, while Brutus scored 17 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. Christian Saint-Fleur was another key contributor, scoring four points along with five rebounds and three blocks.
Pompano Beach now has a losing record at 10-11. As for South Broward, their win bumped their record up to 5-10.
Pompano Beach's road trip will continue as they head out to face Stoneman Douglas at 7:30 p.m. on January 29th. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Jaheem Smith and Berwig. As for South Broward, they will be playing in front of their home fans against West Broward at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (West Broward is ranked 412th, while South Broward is ranked 411th).
