Neal Thompson gave up the fewest earned runs he has since back in March on Friday. As a matter of fact, he produced his best game of the campaign: he struck out six batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Blacksburg is undefeated when he allows at most one walk, but 1-14 otherwise.
