The Ferndale Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 42-34 to Cloverdale. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Ferndale has scored all season.
Despite the defeat, Ferndale saw an underclassman step up: Prescott Langer scored 18 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Langer has scored all season. Thomas Fergison was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Jordan Patton was his usual excellent self, scoring 21 points for Cloverdale.
Ferndale's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Cloverdale, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ferndale will face off against Sonoma Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Sonoma Academy's favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while Ferndale has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season. Cloverdale and Kelseyville will face off at 7:00 p.m. on December 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
