The Veritas Christian Eagles lost against the Faith Christian Academy Knights back in December of 2019, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. 2024 welcomed Veritas Christian with a 53-33 loss courtesy of Faith Christian Academy.
Despite the loss, Veritas Christian still got an impressive performance from Rachael Gaspers, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds. Gaspers scored a full 69.7% of Veritas Christian's points, the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alainie Bessent, who scored seven points.
Veritas Christian's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Faith Christian Academy, their win was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Veritas Christian has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Life Prep at 6:30 p.m. on January 9th. Life Prep presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Veritas Christian in Kansas (Life Prep is ranked fifth, while Veritas Christian is ranked 288th). As for Faith Christian Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Northeast Kansas Nighthawks HomeSchool at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
