The Montezuma-Cortez Panthers fell victim to the Delta Panthers''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were dealt a 48-0 loss at the hands of the Panthers. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Montezuma-Cortez in their matchups with Delta: they've now lost seven in a row.
Colby Mcmillian threw for 43 yards on four of six attempts. Dean York was his top target, picking up 38 receiving yards. On the ground, Tay Wheat rushed for 79 yards.
Ty Reed was his usual excellent self, throwing for 217 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 passes, while also punching in two touchdowns on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylan Bynum, who picked up 92 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Montezuma-Cortez now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Delta, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
Montezuma-Cortez does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Delta will take on Alamosa at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Alamosa is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
