The Olympus Spartans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cross Christian Academy Centurions at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
This season hasn't been kind to Olympus, who are still winless after their fourth game. They fell 68-57 to Life Center Academy on Friday.
Meanwhile, the third road matchup was the charm for Cross Christian Academy, as they earned their first road win of the season. They pulled ahead with a 58-57 photo finish over Shipley. Given Cross Christian Academy's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 19th in Delaware, while the are ranked 400th in Pennsylvania), the result last Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Cross Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Xavier Brewington led the charge by scoring 22 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Brewington has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Dontarius Jones, who scored 19 points.
Olympus' defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Cross Christian Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.
