After both having extra time off, the Pace Setters and Lab Museum United will shake off the rust and duke it out at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Thursday, Pace was able to grind out a solid win over Bergtraum, taking the game 11-7. The victory continues a trend for the Setters in their matchups with the Blazers: they've now won nine in a row.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lab Museum United). Everything went their way against Norman Thomas last Thursday as they made off with a 28-5 win. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded Lab Museum United with their most commanding win of the season.
Dahlia Legendre made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out 11 batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs, five runs, and six RBI while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
In other batting news, Lab Museum United got a massive performance out of Jane Rosenthal, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Delilah Rabin, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple.
Lab Museum United always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .826. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Lab Museum United pushed their record up to 3-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Pace, the victory also got them back to even at 3-3.
Pace couldn't quite get it done against Lab Museum United in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 as they fell 5-1. Will the Setters have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
