The Baker County Wildcats can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. They blew past Fort White 59-39. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Baker County as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Baker County found their leader in underclassman Yamise Haygood, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 11 steals. Haygood is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Zaniah Blake, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
Despite the loss, Fort White still got an impressive performance from Isreal Hart, who scored 32 points. That was a full 82.1% of Fort White's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Baker County's win bumped their record up to 11-5. As for Fort White, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.
Baker County the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome West Nassau at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. As for Fort White, Fort White and Hilliard will face off at 5:30 p.m. on January 20th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
