The New Waverly Bulldogs had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 20-7 win over Kountze. That result was just more of the same for these two, as New Waverly also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2022.
New Waverly's win was their third straight on the road , which pushed their record up to 4-6. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 29.3 points per game. As for Kountze, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.
New Waverly will be playing at home against Newton on Friday. One thing working in Newton's favor is that they have now posted big point totals every time they've taken the field this season. As for Kountze, they will head out on the road to face off against Warren at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Warren is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.
