3A District 2 recap Oct. 9, 2012
Providence moved up to 155 from 196 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 3A District 2. The Stallions were able to make the jump by beating Episcopal 42-7.
Trinity Christian took down Bishop Snyder 76-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Oshay Carter threw for 77 yards and three touchdowns in the win.
The Conquerors' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Jalin Buie chipped in 76 yards. Isaiah Ford helped Trinity Christian's passing attack out by catching two balls for 33 yards.
Deontai Williams was the best wideout in the league this week as Trinity Christian defeated the Cardinals. Williams tallied two receptions for 44 yards.
Trinity Christian's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Conquerors feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Carter has thrown for 428 yards and eight touchdowns this season, while Ford has 15 catches for 241 yards. Jeffery Holland leads the league in rushing with 376 yards.
Providence made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 2,348 from 3,174. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 42-7 victory over the Eagles last week.
