The Turpin Spartans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their seventh straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 48-47 to West Clermont. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Turpin came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 243rd, while West Clermont is ranked 492nd).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead West Clermont to victory, but perhaps none more so than Rayshawn Hubbard, who scored 19 points. Another player making a difference was Carson Duke, who scored nine points along with three steals.
Turpin bumped their record down to 5-7 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for West Clermont, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-10 record this season.
Turpin will be playing at home against Walnut Hills at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for West Clermont, they will head out on the road to take on Lebanon at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lebanon has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 190 points over their last three matchups.
