The Harlingen South Hawks will face off against the Victoria West Warriors at TBD on Friday. Harlingen South is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
Harlingen South had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They skirted past McAllen Memorial 10-7. That's two games straight that Harlingen South has won by exactly three points.
Harlingen South can attribute much of their success to David Sanchez, who rushed for 93 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Victoria West can now show off five landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Friday. They really took it to Southside for the full four quarters, racking up a 59-22 victory on the road. With Victoria West ahead 37-15 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Victoria West relied on the efforts of Camden Repper, who rushed for 155 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.6 yards per carry, and Kamauri Montgomery, who rushed for 238 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 8.2 yards per carry. Montgomery was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 57 yards.
Their wins bumped Harlingen South to 8-3 and Victoria West to 5-6.
