The Nixon Mustangs will be playing at home against the Martin Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Nixon will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
Last Friday, Nixon won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by Southwest Legacy 28-27.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Nixon to victory, but perhaps none more so than RAY GONZALEZ, who threw for 331 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 10.7 yards per attempt. GONZALEZ hasn't dropped below three passing touchdowns for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Shawn David haynes, who picked up 110 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Nixon's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. Southwest Legacy's QB won't forget Andy Moncada anytime soon given Moncada sacked him four times.
Meanwhile, Martin was not the first on the board last Friday, but they got there more often. They walked away with a 23-13 victory over Winn.
Nixon is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for Martin, their victory was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 4-5.
Nixon came up short against Martin in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, falling 21-15. Will Nixon have more luck at home instead of on the road?
