There's no place like home for the North Tahoe Lakers, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Saturday. They walked away with a 55-48 victory over Pershing County on Friday. For North Tahoe, this counts as revenge for the 73-67 loss Pershing County walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.
Cormac Springsteel was his usual excellent self, scoring 21 points. Another player making a difference was Gavin Green, who scored 11 points.
Pershing County's loss came despite strong showings from Trenton Rhodes and Travis Donaldson. Rhodes scored 16 points along with five steals, while Donaldson scored 18 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Donaldson has scored all season. Efrain Aceves was another key contributor, scoring four points along with three steals.
North Tahoe pushed their record up to 10-11 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.5 points per game. As for Pershing County, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-15.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Tahoe won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Oasis Academy at 3:30 p.m. on February 3rd. Averaging 52.95 points so far this season, North Tahoe's high-powered offense has been in full-swing lately, so Oasis Academy better be ready for a challenge. As for Pershing County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Silver Stage at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pershing County is facing Silver Stage at the right time seeing as Silver Stage is stuck on a 18-game losing streak.
