Liberty has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Desert Pines Jaguars at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
On Monday, Liberty faced the Bulldogs in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Liberty was the victim of a tough 73-49 defeat at the hands of the Bulldogs. Liberty has struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as their contest on Monday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Despite their loss, Liberty saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Alofa Eteuini, who scored 17 points along with three steals, was perhaps the best of all. It was the first time this season that Eteuini scored 15 or more points. Satsuki Bradley was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Desert Pines lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the defeat they were handed on on Tuesday was a bit more commanding. They took a serious blow against Bishop Gorman, falling 63-32. Desert Pines' loss continues an unfortunate trend for the team, making it three in a row.
Liberty's loss dropped their record down to 15-10. As for Desert Pines, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-6 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Liberty against the Jaguars in their previous meeting back in November of 2018 as the team secured a 61-22 victory. With Liberty ahead 35-10 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
