Catholic Memorial was handed a 16-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They skirted past University School of Milwaukee 2-1. The win was some much needed relief for the Crusaders as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Lucas Mork spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on seven hits.
At the plate, AJ Traeger was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. That run marked the first that he has scored this season.
Meanwhile, Racine Lutheran/Prairie was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 18-17 heartbreaker at the hands of St. Catherine's.
Racine Lutheran/Prairie got a massive performance out of Richard Falaschi, who got on base in five of his six plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Jack Hood, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Catholic Memorial's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Racine Lutheran/Prairie, their loss dropped their record down to 1-9.
