Jackson Byrd continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 318 yards and four touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes, and also punching in two touchdowns on the ground. Cameron Goins was another key contributor, picking up 81 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Cleveland's victory was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 9-0. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 2-7 Corinth Holders and 3-6 Willow Spring (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 38.6% over those games). As for Garner, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-4.
Cleveland will head out on the road to face off against Clayton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Clayton's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last three contests. As for Garner, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Corinth Holders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Corinth Holders is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
