The Wake Prep Academy Guardians fell victim to the North Wake S Saints''s stalwart defense on Thursday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were dealt a 55-0 defeat at the hands of the Saints. Wake Prep Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
North Wake S was led to victory by Sema'J Davis and Jordan Reid. Davis rushed for 121 yards and a touchdown, while Reid rushed for 157 yards and three touchdowns on only seven carries. Davis' longest rush was for an incredible 85 yards. James Ferguson also deserves a mention for his punt return touchdown.
Another reason for the win was North Wake S's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for 12 sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Avery Hall and Connor Burton who racked up nine sacks between them.
Wake Prep Academy's loss was their fifth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 2-6. As for North Wake S, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 8-2.
Wake Prep Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. North Wake S will head out on the road to face off against Sandhills T at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Sandhills T is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
