Marlboro County is 0-5 against Camden since January of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Marlboro County Bulldogs the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Camden Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th. Marlboro County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 233rd, while Camden is ranked second).
Last Tuesday, Marlboro County came up short against Lake City and fell 47-36.
Meanwhile, Camden stacked a tenth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 86-24 victory over Crestwood at home. The win was nothing new for Camden as they're now sitting on three straight.
It was another big night for Joyce Edwards, who dropped a double-double on 32 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it six consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Camden's points. Another player making a difference was Zyasia Carter, who scored 16 points along with seven assists and two steals.
Marlboro County bumped their record down to 0-10 with that loss, which was their seventh straight at home. As for Camden, their win bumped their record up to 14-2.
Marlboro County took a serious blow against Camden in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 84-41. The match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Marlboro County was down 45-10.
