Ethan Latta Earns League's Top Spot
Starting off the list is Dundy County-Stratton's Ethan Latta, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. On Friday Latta rushed for 219 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 9.5 yards per carry. The performance marked the most rushing yards he has had since back in September of 2023. He showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 57 yards.
Dundy County-Stratton's victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1. Latta and Dundy County-Stratton will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Boyd County at 1:30 p.m. on October 24th.

Cacy Made His Presence Known in Arapahoe's 51-12 Win
Arapahoe picked up their seventh consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to William Cacy. Hi-Line [Eustis-Farnam/Elwood] had no answer to Cacy as he rushed for 141 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 carries. Cacy is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 106 every time he's taken the field this season.
Arapahoe pushed their record up to 7-0 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. Cacy and Arapahoe will head out on the road to challenge St. Patrick's at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Lane Bybee Makes It Two for Dundy County-Stratton
The second Dundy County-Stratton player making an appearance here is Lane Bybee, and for good reason. He wasn't messing around on Friday, picking up 2.5 sacks, forcing a fumble, and making 11 total tackles (4.0 for loss). The matchup was his third straight with 11 or more total tackles.
For the season, Bybee has averaged 11.3 total tackles per game and for the season has 4.5 sacks. It gets even more impressive: after seven games last season, he had one forced fumble. This year he is already up to three.

Trenton Roskop produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Arapahoe to the win on Friday. Roskop rushed for 51 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 88 yards and two touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes.
On the season, Roskop has thrown 5 touchdowns while averaging 32.3 passing yards per game. It gets even more impressive: after seven games last season, he was only averaging 45.23 passer rating per game. This year he is averaging 83.13 passer rating.

Rounding off our Top Five is Zavier Mitchell of Alma. Mitchell threw for 122 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a rushing score.
Alma dropped their record down to 1-6 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. Mitchell will try to repeat (or improve) on that dominant effort when he faces off against Hi-Line [Eustis-Farnam/Elwood] on Friday.
