Grantsville has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against The Canyon View Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Grantsville will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last.
Last Friday, Grantsville got themselves on the board against Carbon, but Carbon never followed suit. They breezed by the Dinos at home to the tune of 39-0. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Grantsville just coasted through the last quarter.
Grantsville's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Dallan Van vliet, who threw for 97 yards and a touchdown, and Jayden Atkinson, who rushed for 42 yards and two touchdowns. Aiden Bishop and his 81 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Grantsville's win.
Meanwhile, Canyon View stacked a fourth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard two weeks ago. They blew past Carbon, posting a 56-7 win on the road. With Canyon View ahead 49-7 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Jaxon Jensen was a one-man wrecking crew for Canyon View as he threw for 353 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 16.0 yards per attempt. Another player making a difference was Lincoln Rushton, who gained 69 total yards and two touchdowns.
Their wins bumped Grantsville to 6-5 and Canyon View to 8-2.
