Faith Christian hasn't had much luck against Temple Christian recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Warriors will be playing in front of their home fans against the Crusaders at 5:45 p.m. Faith Christian is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.
On Thursday, Faith Christian had just enough and edged out Christian Heritage Academy 3-2.
The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Faith Christian who won the one that mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 21-25, 25-15, 16-25, 15-9.
Faith Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kinley McGee, who had 12 digs. Rebecca Kauffman also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.
Faith Christian was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 18 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces every time they've taken the court this season.
Meanwhile, Temple Christian came up short against Timberlake Christian on Thursday and fell 3-1. While the Crusaders didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Tornadoes 25-17 in the first set.
Temple Christian started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 17-25, 25-14, 25-20, 25-15.
Faith Christian's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Temple Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-10.
