Winning is just a little bit easier when you work as a team to rack up ten more assists than your opponent, a fact the Delta Rabbits proved on Friday. They took down Tooele 68-53.
Delta was led to victory by Bronco Bundy and Cai Henderson. Bundy scored 23 points along with 7 rebounds, while Henderson dropped a double-double on 24 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it six consecutive games in which Henderson has scored at least 25% of Delta's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaytn Brough, who scored 3 points along with 5 assists and 5 rebounds.
Despite the loss, Tooele still got an impressive performance from Ethan B rogers, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 10 rebounds. B rogers scored a full 32.1% of Tooele's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Crew Lewis was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with 3 steals.
The victory got Delta back to even at 3-3. As for Tooele, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Delta will face off against Kanab at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Tooele, they will head out on the road to face off against Kearns at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
