After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Norwood, Ashland was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They never let the Keefe Tech Broncos get on the board and left with an 18-0 win. With that victory, the Clockers brought their scoring average up to 7.1 runs per game.
Holly Cashin was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Cashin was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Quinn Herter was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Abby Rosenfeld, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with three RBI and one run.
Ashland hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive contests.
Ashland's win ended a ten-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-5. As for Keefe Tech, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.

As for Keefe Tech, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on New Mission at 4:00 p.m. on May 5.
