Saint Gertrude hasn't had much luck against Trinity Episcopal recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Gators will head out on the road to face off against the Titans at 4:30 p.m. Saint Gertrude is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.3 runs per game this season.
On Thursday, Saint Gertrude didn't have quite enough to beat Catholic and fell 14-13.
Trinity Episcopal came out on top against Saint John Paul the Great Catholic on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive nine-run first inning. The Titans never let the Wolves get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Titans in their matchups with the Wolves: they've now won six in a row.
Cooper Beatty made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in May of 2025.
In other batting news, Trinity Episcopal got a massive performance out of Brooke Shelton, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Lucia Fischi, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs.
Trinity Episcopal lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post two or more home runs.
Trinity Episcopal's record is now 4-5. As for Saint Gertrude, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-3.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Saint Gertrude hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .405. However, it's not like Trinity Episcopal struggles in that department as they've averaged .332. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Saint Gertrude might still be hurting after the 11-1 loss they got from Trinity Episcopal in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. Can the Gators avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
