Andover is 2-8 against Bolivar-Richburg since April of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Panthers will host the Wolverines at 6:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Friday, Andover made easy work of Hammondsport and carried off an 11-2 victory. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Lakers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
Meanwhile, Bolivar-Richburg entered their tilt with Cuba-Rushford on Friday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. They put the hurt on the Rebels with a sharp 10-3 victory.
Kylee Whiting was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 15 batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than 11 strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Teegan Sibble was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cassidy Stives, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Bolivar-Richburg kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive contests.
Bolivar-Richburg's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-5. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Andover, their win bumped their record up to 6-9.
