On Friday, Los Altos blew past Covina, posting a 47-6 win. Given the Conquerors' advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 244th, while the Colts are ranked 511th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.
DIEGO CASTILLO was his usual excellent self, throwing for 278 yards and three touchdowns while completing 78.6% of his passes, and also rushing for 47 yards. EVAN ROJAS was another key player, gaining 92 total yards and two touchdowns.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Los Altos was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 231 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Los Altos' defense and their three sacks. The team can thank two different players for their defensive prowess: NICHOLAS CASTILLO and ROJAS, who each picked up one sack apiece. CASTILLO was another major factor on D, picking up a sack, forcing one fumble, and making eight total tackles (2.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, Chino made easy work of Walnut on Friday and carried off a 35-14 victory.
Los Altos better keep an eye on Nathan Bull. He was instrumental in Chino's win, rushing for 222 yards and three TDs while picking up 10.1 yards per carry. Bull is becoming a predictor of the Cowboys' success: when he posts at least 80 rushing yards the team is undefeated (and 0-4 when he doesn't).
Chino's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Los Altos, their victory bumped their record up to 7-0.
Los Altos came up short against Chino in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, falling 20-14. Will the Conquerors have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other football content.
