West Allegheny scored a stunning upset when it knocked off Montour, 5-3. At the time, the Spartans were ranked 12th in the state, while the Indians were 42nd.
The biggest upset of the week belonged to West Allegheny, who took down 12th ranked Montour, 5-3.
Nate Climo and Jordan Whitehead gave Central Valley a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Climo threw for 160 yards and two touchdowns, while Whitehead ran for 201 yards. JaQuan Pennington also contributed to the rushing game with 14 yards on the ground.
Devin Wilson was the best wideout in WPIAL AAA Parkway this week as Lou Cerro's team lost to Bob Palko's team. Wilson racked up five receptions for 103 yards. Justin Hill helped Montour's passing attack out by catching six balls for 55 yards.
Blackhawk's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Cougars feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Chandler Kincade has thrown for 1531 yards and 11 touchdowns this season, while Alex Caratelli has 48 catches for 773 yards. Cole Chiappialle leads the league in rushing with 995 yards.
Blackhawk's Chiappialle is a mere five yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Chartiers Valley takes on the Indians. As it stands, the Colts are in eighth, while West Allegheny is in first.
The Warriors extended the longest winning streak in WPIAL AAA Parkway this week by beating the Bridgers, 35-14. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
