With a playoff game on the line, the Miramar Patriots rose to the challenge on Friday. They blew past the Wolverines 31-7. Considering Miramar has won seven contests by more than 22 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Miramar's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Eric Nelson, who picked up 248 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Nelson's longest reception was for an incredible 85 yards. Another player making a difference was Kael Alexander, who threw for 324 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 13.0 yards per attempt.
The win (which was Miramar's fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 37.0 points per game. As for Belen Jesuit, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.
Miramar will head out on the road to face off against Homestead at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Homestead will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive. Belen Jesuit does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
